Behind the Blue Doors of BRMS...
January at BRMS BGC was packed full of lots of fun. Kids seemed to be eager to get back to school and share all of their exciting stories from the holidays. We had a lot of fun-filled events and met tons of new faces this month. We are also looking forward to a new programming design to be released for the school year 2020-21. This program will help overall with improving member safety and solidify our daily attendance. Programming will be each member's choice with pre-registration in a specific club of their interest. This will allow for a more personal setting with leaders who will actively enhance and engage members to their full potential to get the most out of being a BGC Member. Please stay tuned for exciting details and ways you can help!
The members of Barron Riverview BGC were filled with excitement when learning about career opportunities, and how to set themselves up to succeed in the future. Career focus this month was focused on the United States Air Force with guest speaker Charles Robar. He taught members what opportunities are available, what is required to be successful, and many benefits of being in the Air Force. Thank you Charles for all of the fun information you shared with us!
We also had an amazing opportunity to have a virtual meeting with NASA to wrap-up our project that we have been working on all year. Engineers, Lyndsey Thornton and Veronica Guzik, joined us and shared their success stories about their personal journeys to work for NASA. BGC was very engaged and had many questions and curiosities that were answered fully, leaving our members with so many new facts that they could soar to the moon! BGC members also had a money management session with Megan Janz from Dairy State Bank. Here we learned about why it is important to save money and how quickly simple saving can really add up! Thank you to each and every one of you who shared with our kids and helping as a community to set them up for success it is greatly appreciated and enjoyed by all!
Member of the month award was given to Annebella P. Annebella is a 7th grader here at Riverview. She has a wonderful attendance record with us and is very dedicated to getting her homework done before the “fun” begins. Thank you for all that you bring to our club, your dedication and willingness to engage your peers!
